YEREVAN. – At its session today, the Government of Armenia approved the package of laws and related bills on amendments and addenda to the laws on Judicial Code and on Constitutional Court.

Justice Minister Rustam Badasyan noted that their main goal is to provide efficient and complex legal bases for the integrity of the country’s judges.

The solutions proposed in the related package will also apply to the inspection of the integrity of other declarants.

The package clarifies the judges’ rules of conduct and the grounds for disciplinary action against them.

Minister Badasyan noted that this package has undergone international expertise. "The Venice Commission's conclusion leads to the following: the package of the Judicial Code is positively assessed in terms of preventing corruption," he said. "It is noted that the regulations of the Judicial Code are largely in line with international standards, and this draft has ensured that both the fight against corruption as well as the independence of the judiciary are not undermined."
