YEREVAN. – No one is affected in the fire. Speaking to reporters today, Minister of Emergency Situations of Armenia Feliks Tsolakyan said this about the ongoing fire at a beer pub at an intersection in downtown Yerevan. (PHOTOS)

According to him, firefighters reached the scene very quickly and were able to prevent the fire from spreading to nearby buildings.

Tsolakyan said he does not know the cause of the fire. "The only thing I know is that it seems there was a remodeling process on the second floor."

According to Tsolakyan, the fire had started from the roof. "The corner of the roof of [the Famous] Dolmama [restaurant] had caught fire, which they extinguished were quickly."

And asked whether the fire could have reached the wine cellar in the building, the minister answered: "It [the fire] has not reached down."

Today at 1:59pm, the 911 emergency hotline received a call that that a fire broke out at a two-story building at an intersection of downtown Yerevan.

Several fire and rescue squads, a ladder fire truck, operational and emergency response teams, and a psychiatric instructor, have been dispatched to the scene.

The complexity degree of the fire has been increased.

It turned out that the fire had broken out on the roof of a restaurant. Its wooden roof constructions are burning.
