Criminal cases against incumbent officials show the Armenian government’s intention to combat corruption, PM Nikol Pashinyan said.

“After revolution we started a huge anti-corruption campaign. We have several criminal case against current officials, acting officials. This is important to know because it shows intention to combat present corruption, not the corruption of previous officials only,” he said.

Pashinyan said it was important to state that Armenia’s cooperation with the EU “will allow us create judiciary and electoral system in accordance with European standards.”

No single case of redistribution of property has been recorded so far, and this also shows that the government has principled position on protecting human rights and property rights, he added.
