Armenian-Russian relations, which have passed the test of time, are of strategic and allied nature. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov noted this in his address to participants of the Primakov Readings international conference in Yerevan.

"I welcome the initiative to expand the geographical scope of [conference] participants and hold the meeting in Yerevan," the message—which was read to the discussants—reads, in particular. “We see in it a high level of trust between the two countries. It is symbolic that this event is being held in Armenia on the 90th anniversary of Yevgeny Primakov, who paid great attention to the interaction with the CIS countries and made significant efforts to ensure security in the South Caucasus."

As reported earlier, Yerevan is hosting the "Primakov Readings in Yerevan" two-day international conference dedicated to the 90th birth anniversary of Russian statesman and scholar Yevgeny Primakov.
