A representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Abkhazia told TASS that a shooting took place in central Sokhumi on Friday and, according to preliminary data, two people were murdered. “According to preliminary information, the shooting left two dead,” the representative said.

As Minister of Internal Affairs of Abkhazia Gari Arshba stated, the deceased were a man and woman, who were citizens of Abkhazia, and the wife was working as a waitress at a restaurant. “According to preliminary data, there are two people wounded,” the news agency’s interlocutors said. The internal affairs minister added that the wounded have been hospitalized, but there is still no information on their condition. Arshba informed that Abkhazian law-enforcement authorities introduced the “Seizure” plan on Friday in Sokhumi and are searching for three masked people who had opened fire near San Remo Café.

According to preliminary information, the three masked criminals, dressed in camouflage and holding machine guns, opened fire at citizens who were sitting around a table near the café.
