The Armenian side within the Armenia-US parliamentary friendship group has become more open and proactive, said Bright Armenia party MP Edmon Marukyan on Monday.

According to the MP, criticism is often voiced in Armenia regarding the fact that the Armenian delegations to the US mainly met and were close with partners from the Democratic Party, but today the Armenian side is actively cooperating with its colleagues from the Republican Party. The recent visit of the Armenian delegation to this country was a vivid confirmation of this. This contributes to the institutional development of relations, he noted.

“I was part of the delegation during the previous visit, which took place in February 2018 - before the revolution, and if we compare the recent visit to the US with the then one, the differences are very significant in terms of level. Unlike last time, the Armenian side had something to say about, in particular, regarding the changes that took place in Armenia,” he noted.
