The election of mayor of Ijevan will not take place at the end of December, but at the beginning of March, Iravunk daily reported referring to its own sources.

“The reason for the delay is that community enlargement should happen. Several communities will join Ijevan. And before that, the acting Mayor, godfather of the Armenian PM Galumyan, according to our source, is doing everything to “win the hearts” of the local population,” the source noted.

To stabilize the situation in his native Ijevan, Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan had to send the Police Troops to the regional center back in July.
