Since the inception, Hayastan All-Armenian Fund has built 635 km roads, apartments for 970 families and 585 km water pipelines, built, repaired or rebuilt 364 schools, built or repaired 75 medical institutions, 59 cultural and sport centers, 29 community centers, 115 greenhouses and has implemented 173 educational, scientific and cultural programs with its funds. This is what Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan said during the annual Telethon organized by Hayastan All-Armenian Fund today.

“You remember that I am a journalist, and then I became a Member of Parliament representing the political opposition, and I like to ask questions. I asked myself how much money Hayastan All-Armenian Fund has collected throughout the past 27 years, and I found out that it has collected about $370,000,000. There have also been non-monetary donations. For 27 years, we Armenians have been expecting money from the same circuit. This is a problem, and there has been a certain matter of trust. We need to make a change. We need to make the transition from large donations of a restricted number of people to the logic of small donations by a large number of people,” he stated.

During the Telethon, Pashinyan challenged world famous Armenians Serj Tankian, Kim Kardashian and Alexis Ohanian. “If 5,000,000 Armenians each donate $200 or $20 or a little more than $20 a month to the Fund, during that one year, we will have $1,250,000,000. The Fund will have three times as much control over the cost-efficiency of each and every penny, and we will rule out any misuse of funds. Today I visited the Fund’s website and set the regulation to have AMD 10,000 be donated to the Fund every month. I am challenging three Armenians, including Serj Tankian, Kim Kardashian and Alexis Ohanian. It is very important for these three to make the process public and challenge three other Armenians,” he said.
