Prosecutor General of Armenia Artur Davtyan today touched upon the dispute that Yuri Khachaturov’s attorney Mihran Poghosyan and prosecutor Gevorg Baghdasaryan had during the trial over the case of the events of March 1, 2008.

Davtyan particularly said the following: “I have always been of the opinion that prosecutors should not be emotional, but I want you to understand that prosecutors are also human beings, and I believe sometimes a prosecutor should give an adequate response to provocation.”

Mihran Poghosyan and Gevorg Baghdasaryan got into a dispute during the recent trial over the case of second President of Armenia Robert Kocharyan and other ex-officials.

While Mihran Poghosyan’s was speaking, Gevorg Baghdasaryan wanted to object, in response to which Mihgran Poghosyan urged him to not interrupt him, and this led to a dispute. Judge Anna Danibekyan of the Yerevan court of general jurisdiction reprimanded Yuri Khachaturov’s attorney Mihran Poghosyan and prosecutor Gevorg Baghdasaryan.
