The Tatars and Armenians of Crimea have been prohibited from participating in the UN Forum on Minority Issues in Geneva. This is what member of the Public Chambers of Russia and Crimea, head of the Bulgarian Regional National-Cultural Autonomy of Crimea Ivan Abazher said, reports RIA-Novosti.

“The representatives of the Tatar and Armenian communities of Crimea wanted to participate in the forum and deliver speeches, but the organizers didn’t give them the right to participate,” he said.

According to him, he and head of the Ukrainian community of Crimea Anastasia Gridchina had registered to participate in the forum and had submitted the relevant documents to receive visas from the Swiss embassy, but only Gridchina had received a visa.

“What upsets me the most is the fact that the West is blocking Crimean citizens’ entry into Europe and the US through phony sanctions. This is a violation of human right. The Un Resolutions always state the violations of the rights of Tatars and Ukrainians in Crimea. We’re not allowed to speak on these platforms,” Abazher stated.
