The business interests of the generals hinder military innovation in Armenia,  said head of e-Hayq Vahagn Poghosyan on Sunday at the discussions of the 7th Business Innovation Forum

“We do not say that certain weapons are not needed, we say that new types of weapons are also necessary,” he said adding that the integrated use of innovations can lead to a dilemma - what to do with what is already available.

But there are innovations that involve the creation of new units that did not exist previously, and then there would be no such dilemma, he added.

On the other hand, Poghosyan noted, there are certain innovations that must be applied without fail, there are areas where it is necessary to abandon the old methods.

Poghosyan noted with regret that there is no progress in solving this problem, since this is a territory of business interests, everything from diesel fuel to breakfast for these children affects someone’s interests, wherever you turn, you’ll hurt and stink.

Poghosyan noted that innovators can naturally compete to solve the problem of control and protection of 20 km from the contact line, but he is sure that this is pointless, since initiatives without fail will come up against “generals who have their own business interests”.
