Azerbaijani Milli Majlis announced about self-dissolution at a special meeting on Monday, minval.az reported.
Speaker Ogtay Asadov noted that the structural reforms carried out by the president have entered a new stage.
According to him, reforms are welcomed by society.
“In accordance with the Constitution, the Milli Majlis has the right to consider and discuss this issue. New challenges, expectations of society and other factors created the need for deepening reforms in the legislative branch, updating the parliament.”
Then the deputy executive secretary of the ruling party, deputy Siyavush Novruzov, read out an appeal to President Ilham Aliyev about the dissolution of parliament and the calling of early elections.
