YEREVAN. – The legislative package on making amendments to the Law on Refugees and Asylum and Related Laws was not included in the agenda of the National Assembly on December 3, the Armenian News-NEWS.am correspondent reports from the parliament.

A total of 88 lawmakers voted against the bill, with only 17 in favor.

The bill proposed not to apply criminal or administrative sanctions against refugees, as well as asylum seekers who entered Armenia without authorization, but reported it personally and without delay to the competent authorities of the republic, stating a valid reason for entering or arriving in Armenia illegally.
