YEREVAN. – Member of ARF Dashnaktsutyun called Armenia’s Minister of Education “a political corpse”.

Lilit Galstyan, member of ARFD supreme body, commented for Armenian News-NEWS.am on police behavior during today’s rally near the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport when 24 members of ARF youth union were apprehended.

“I was surprised to see that the authorities who permanently speak on behalf of the people, those who came to power by blocking the streets and declaring that each Armenian citizen is a prime minister, did this today. Our young people presented their demands to ‘superminister’ of education, science, culture and sport in a polite manner. This behavior is appalling and ridiculous. It is ridiculous to hide behind the backs of hundreds of police officers,” she said.

Galstyan emphasized that the minister “was not brave enough” to talk to the protesters.

“It’s ridiculous. Are the authorities afraid of unarmed children? They were fighting to defend the values,” she added.
