YEREVAN. – Zhoghovurd newspaper writes: A study by Zhoghovurd daily showed that in some hotels in Armenia, which declared tourism as a dominant branch, holiday spending for several days in some cases exceeds one million drams.

But Tbilisi's Vaki hotel, for example, offers from 47,000 to 55,000 drams [about $100] for 4 nights for two people.

But there are many people who simply rent an apartment for 5,000-6,000 drams a day.

But Mekhak Apresyan, president of the Armenian Tourism Federation, speaking with Zhoghovurd daily, disagreed that prices in Georgia are more affordable and competitive.

"It can be an exception only in the case of New Year packages because at us, at all tourism sites—whether it be Tsakhkadzor, Dilijan, Jermuk—a tradition has been formed: New Year packages are mainly offered," Apresyan said.
