Itinerant retailers oppose restrictions imposed on their activities, said Prosperous Armenia party MP Sergey Bagratyan on Wednesday at the Armenian parliament.

According to him, the presented legislative package is “not serious”.

“You just torture people,” he said.

According to the proposed legislative package, it is proposed to limit the activities of itinerant retail outlets. The legislative package proposes to transfer all these powers to the Council of Elders of Yerevan, which will be able to determine in the capital those places where they will be allowed to carry out trading, or to carry out the corresponding services at certain hours. A local tax of AMD 50 thousand should also be established for this. Itinerant retailers will be able to carry out their activities in the administrative district of Yerevan within one day, after which they will move to another district.
