President of the Union of Armenians of Ukraine Vilen Shatvoryan has bestowed the “Active Figure of the Diaspora” Order on High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs of Armenia Zareh Sinanyan for his significant contributions to the development of the relations between Ukraine and Armenia.

As reported AnalitikaUA.net, during a meeting with the leaders and representatives of the Union of Armenians of Ukraine, Sinanyan discussed the strengthening of Armenia-Diaspora relations and assessed the effectiveness of the activities of the Union of Armenians of Ukraine. “I am incredibly happy for and inspired by the activities of the Armenian community in Ukraine,” Zareh Sinanyan said.

The “Active Figure of the Diaspora” Order is a special award that the Union of Armenians of Ukraine grants to people who have played a major role in the lives of Armenians in the Diaspora. In 2019, the order was conferred to Honorable Citizen of Slavyansk Eduard Harutyunyan, diplomats, Consul of the Republic of Armenia in Kiev Liana Gevorgyan and Envoy Extraordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia in Ukraine Hayk Hakobyan.
