All four accused in the Hyderabad veterinarian's rape and murder case in India have been killed in an exchange of fire with police on Friday morning, police have said, India Today reported. 

Four men were arrested and taken to the crime scene to reproduce the events. However, the accused tried to snatch weapons from the police, and a shootout occurred. All four of the accused died. Two policemen were injured.

Thousands of Indians took to protests in several cities over the rape and murder of a woman.

Many Indians seem to have supported the cops.

"They (accused) snatched weapons from police and fired on police and tried to escape... police fired in retaliation in which the four accused died," a senior police official told PTI. Two policemen were also injured, he said.
