YEREVAN. – The Armenian parliament continues today the last four-day sittings of this year. There are 40 issues on the agenda, most of which have already been discussed.

In particular, yesterday the parliament continued and ended the debate on the draft state budget for 2020. Opposition Prosperous Armenia and Bright Armenia factions announced they would vote against the draft.

But the National Assembly did not pass the draft amendments to law on Service in the National Security Authorities, authored by the opposition Bright Armenia faction, which would have allowed people from outside the system to be appointed as police chief and National Security Service director.

The controversial bill giving the current Constitutional Court members the opportunity to retire early will also be debated in this four-day session.
