Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, who is in Bratislava to attend the 26th OSCE Ministerial Council, had a meeting with European Union Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the Crisis in Georgia Toivo Klaar.

As reported the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, the foreign minister and the EU Special Representative underscored the importance of the regular contacts and meetings to discuss issues related to the region and identify the problems within the scope of the mandate of the EU Special Representative.

The interlocutors exchanged views on the latest developments of the peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Minister Mnatsakanyan provided details of his meetings with the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan and shared Armenia’s assessment of the process. He also reaffirmed Armenia’s priorities in the peace process.

The interlocutors also attached importance to undertaking confidence-building measures to prepare the populations for peace. In this context, Armenia’s foreign minister stated the implementation of an exchange program for journalists of Armenia, Artsakh and Azerbaijan.
