US Special Representative for Iran Brian Hook openly admitted that Iran’s missile tests are not prohibited by UN Security Council resolution 2231, said Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif.

“Brian Hook has given our E3 #JCPOA partners a timely reminder, openly admitting that missile testing is NOT prohibited in Security Council Resolution 2231. One of the deficiencies of the Iran nuclear deal is that it ENDED the prohibition on Iran's ballistic missile testing,” Zarif quoted Hook as saying,” Tasnim reported quoting Zarif.

Earlier, France, Germany and the UK sent a letter to the UN Secretary General, claiming that Iran’s development of ballistic missiles is contrary to UN Security Council resolution 2231.

The resolution called on Iran not to take any action related to ballistic missiles capable of carrying nuclear warheads.
