YEREVAN. – We have all come from the past; none of us has come from the future, so we have our own perceptions, our options for approaching social issues, our upbringing, our base of making mistakes. Hovik Aghazaryan, an MP from the majority My Step faction, mentioned this in a conversation with reporters in the National Assembly (NA) of Armenia, referring to the arrest of Gevorg Loretsyan, the Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport.

"Has anyone said that the government excludes the being of such elements within its representatives?" he asked and continued: “The issue is how the government responds to such phenomena. Doesn’t the fact that the candidate submitted by the [opposition] Bright Armenia [faction] has been elected as the chair of the [NA] Committee on Prevention of Corruption mean that the authorities are taking this issue very seriously?

Loretsyan is one of my young friends, and it is a pity for me if the charges against him are suddenly confirmed. I hope that something is wrong.”
