Sunnization may become radical in Azerbaijan in 30 years. This is what political scientist, Director of the Caucasus Institute Alexander Iskandaryan told journalists today.

According to him, in the sense of political science, Azerbaijan has not been a part of the Caucasus for a long time now and is more like a Middle Eastern regime where there is always a risk of growth of the Islamic trend.

“For the time being, Alievy’s regime is succeeding in overcoming the negative influence of Sunnization, but experts say this may have an effect several decades later. Aliyev is also able to manage the detachment from Syria that is the largest in the post-Soviet territory and participated in the military operations in Syria,” the political scientist stated.
