Arman Tatoyan, the Human Rights Defender (Ombudsman) of Armenia, has signed a joint cooperation agreement with the Armenian Bar Association of the United States, and the Law School at the Southwestern University of the US state of California.

It aims to expand effective cooperation in law education and human rights, as well as to foster the capacity of the Human Rights Defender's staff, the latter’s  public relations department informed.

The agreement enables the Armenian Ombudsman’s staff to receive scholarships to study at the aforesaid school, as well as to be enrolled in various courses, and to host lecturers interested in academics and professional development.

The arrangement to sign the memorandum of understanding was reached during a visit by the Human Rights Defender to the United States this summer.
