Acting head of the Vayots Dzor Regional Department of the Police of Armenia Gevorg Grigoryan, police chief of Jermuk Ashot Khacharyan and other police officers yesterday visited the posts for protection of Mount Amulsar. This is what resident of Jermuk, activist Shirak Buniatyan wrote on his Facebook page today.

The Facebook post particularly reads as follows:

“Acting head of the Vayots Dzor Regional Department of the Police Gevorg Grigoryan, Chief of Police of Jermuk Ashot Khachatryan and other police officers visited the posts for protection of Mount Amulsar. During the meeting, Mr. Grigoryan offered to ensure entry into Amulsar for a least five days for work in the winter, but we rejected the offer and explained that work hasn’t been done after winter last year and it’s not like the wrapped equipment must be rewrapped.

Besides, any entry into the territory of Amulsar causes harm to the struggle and postpones it. The conversation was held in a civilized manner and in an atmosphere of solidarity.

Today, on December 9, police chief of Jermuk A. Khachatryan contacted us and said, according to preliminary data, the deputy police chiefs of Armenia, the governor of Vayots Dzor Province and other officials wanted to meet with us at Grand Resort Hotel in Jermuk. We don’t have information about what the meeting is going to be about, but we will provide details later. MOUNT AMULSAR WILL REMAIN A MOUNTAIN AND THAT IS FINAL, regardless of all the meetings. PROTECTORS OF MOUNT AMULSAR”.
