I believe the proceedings for the case of Gegham Petrosyan (accused-on-trial under the case of the events of March 1, 2008) will be terminated. This is what Petrosyan’s attorney Vagharshak Gevorgyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Petrosyan was released from Yerevan Kentron Penitentiary Institution on August 4, 2019.

“The uproar concerning Gegham Petrosyan was phony. Everyone understood that he hadn’t committed a crime. I believe the criminal prosecution against him will end and the proceedings of the case regarding him will be terminated,” the attorney said and added that no criminal act has been committed against Petrosyan since his release.

Ten years after the events of March 1, 2008, 70-year-old Gegham Petrosyan, deputy commander of Armenia’s police troops, was charged with the murder of Zakar Hovhannisyan with a firearm. The court rendered a decision to detain him on April 4, but released him on August 4.
