Judge of the Criminal Court of Appeal of Armenia Tigran Sahakyan has denied the motion of second President of Armenia Robert Kocharyan’s attorney Hayk Alumyan to institute proceedings to review a court’s judicial act under a new circumstance.

The attorney had addressed the Criminal Court of Appeal to review the decision that the First Instance Court had rendered on September 20, 2019, to overturn and change it, lift detention selected as a preventive measure for Robert Kocharyan and release him from custody, and if not, recognize the application of pledge as admissible and render a decision to release Robert Kocharyan by pledge.

In an interview with Armenian News-NEWS.am, Hayk Alumyan said the Court of Cassation of Armenia is vested with the power to institute proceedings for the disputed judicial act on the ground of a new circumstance.
