The year 2019 was an extremely successful year for Russian-Armenian relations. This is what President of Integration and Development Research and Analysis NGO Aram Safaryan declared during the session of the Lazaryan Club in Yerevan.
Safaryan briefly presented the achievements that Armenia made in the passing year (session of the Supreme Economic Council of the Eurasian Economic Union in Yerevan, the visits of Russian defense and foreign ministers to Yerevan, the holding of the session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization in Armenia and beyond the borders of the Russian Federation for the first time in history) and referred to the year as a year of new opportunities.
Safaryan also stated the fact that there has been less interest in the Eurasian Economic Union over the past five years and that this attests to the fact that people aren’t finding the answers to the questions of their concern. According to him, there is a need to create expert platforms to make the activities of the Collective Security Treaty Organization and Eurasian Economic Union understandable and acceptable.
