Former Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir was sentenced on Saturday to 10 years in prison on corruption charges against him, TASS reported.

Al-Bashir's first sentence was handed down at a special court hearing in Khartoum, broadcast by Al Hadath.

The prison term of the ex-president of the country was reduced from ten to two years due to his advanced age. The prison term was reduced from ten to two years as the ousted president of Sudan is 75 years old. All funds found with the ex-president are subject to confiscation.
