I have heard opinions that Lydian has created two subsidiaries whereby it is attempting to enter arbitration. This was stated by Shirak Buniatyan, a Jermuk town resident and member of the “I am against mining at Amulsar” initiative during the open discussion-meeting, in Jermuk today, of the people fighting against the planned operation of the Amulsar gold mine.

"But until now, they have no jurisdiction because they have not taken any action in Amulsar," he added, noting that they must decide through discussion whether to allow a new wintering at the mine site.

He noted that the respective decisions should be made based on the majority's position.

"I am sure that the revolution [in Armenia] was made to hear the voice of the people, and people were gathered here," he said. "Let the people express their position, and let's see how the government treats it."

Buniatyan added that today's decision can be followed by actions.
