YEREVAN. – On December 16, the Standing Committee on Protection of Human Rights and Public Affairs of the National Assembly of Armenia is discussing the creation of a working group to discuss reforms of the Armenian legislation on incitement to hatred, the Armenian News-NEWS.am correspondent reports from parliament.

The main speaker is MP Sargis Khandanyan of the ruling My Step alliance. The MP noted that the task of the working group is to discuss the international experience and to develop a relevant legislative base which will allow fighting against the fake news of the portals, as well as hate speech, but without undermining freedom of speech and freedom of information.

The MP also said that the working group shall discuss social media’s fake pages by way of which alternative opinion is intimidated.
