Poet, prose writer, singer and songwriter Vahram Tatikyan has passed away. This is what Vahan Artsruni posted on his Facebook page.

Vahram Tatikyan was born on November 14, 1949 in Yerevan to the family of prose writer Shahen Tatikyan and prose writer and journalist Shakeh Varsyan.

He graduated from the Department of Archaeology of the Faculty of History at Yerevan State University with a degree in Armenian Art History.

Since 1974, he worked at the Institute of Arts of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia (NAS RA). He has authored several scientific articles and more than 20 sketches for rugs. He has also written hundreds of songs.

In 1977, he became a member of the Union of Writers of Armenia (UWA).

In 1988, Vahram Tatikyan joined the movement for the liberation of Artsakh. In 1981, he published his books “Art of Armenian Carpet Weaving” and “Forty Songs or Two Concerts for You”.
