YEREVAN. – Artur Tonoyan, the Deputy Chief of Traffic Police of Armenia, was released yesterday. The news was confirmed by the Special Investigation Service news service.

The Court of Appeal overturned the first-instance court's arrest ruling.

Tonoyan has been charged with abusing his official powers by limiting competition between private companies for the supply of vehicle license plates, carrying out actions to prevent one of these companies from entering the Armenian market, thereby securing another company having a monopoly in this market and contributing to the maintenance of discriminatory prices set by this company, and as a result, substantial damage was caused to the legitimate interests of the state.
