Former leader of the USSR Mikhail Gorbachev has been transferred to a hospital, reports RIA.

The ex-president told the news agency that he is in the hospital after having undergone treatment for inflammation of the lungs and that his doctors have promised to check him out of the hospital soon.

As reported earlier, Gorbachev was transferred to a hospital with inflammation of the lungs.

“Yes, I have been transferred to the hospital, but I am recovering. The treatment is over. I will stay at the hospital for a couple of days and leave,” Gorbachev said on the phone.
