Can you imagine what would happen to Judge Lusine Abgaryan of the Criminal Court of Appeal, if she ruled to release second President of Armenia Robert Kocharyan? This is what Levon Kocharyan, son of Robert Kocharyan, told journalists today.

“How can we expect a judge to become a hero in the atmosphere which the judiciary is in? Can you imagine what would happen to Lusine Abgaryan, if she released my father? The last time my father was released, the next day, the Prime Minister called on citizens to block entrances to and exits from courts. This is unheard of.”

As reported earlier, the Criminal Court of Appeal today denied the motion of Robert Kocharyan’s attorneys disputing the decision of the first instance court to acknowledge application of pledge as preventive measure for second President of Armenia Robert Kocharyan as inadmissible. Robert Kocharyan will remain under custody.
