YEREVAN. – Mayor of Yerevan Hayk Marutyan pledged to make “big changes” in the capital city next year.

“We started doing much things, and you would see the results next year. Transportation is a priority for me. We have done huge work this year, and now is a stage when it should be implemented. The phase of discussions and calculations is behind, now it’s about concrete work,” he said after the Christmas tree lighting ceremony in Yerevan.

Asked about new buses, the mayor said implementation of the program will last 2-4 years.

As for the funds allocated for the New Year celebrations, Marutyan is confident people will assess whether the expenses were justified once the holiday season is over.
