There will always be a threat of war because Azerbaijan knows it can’t get what it wants through negotiations. This is what president of “Vernatun” public-political club Vazgen Manukyan declared during public discussions today.

Manukyan noted that even though the resolutions of the UN Security Council state that the issue of territories and the status of Artsakh need to be solved, they don’t state the way the issues need to be solved.

“Azerbaijan wants everything, and if it gets any territory, this will pose a serious threat to Armenia. The talks need to continue,” the ex-Prime Minister added and emphasized that the issue of territories and the independence of Karabakh is still on the negotiating table.

“Various ideas have been discussed throughout the years, including the idea of one state and the recognition of Artsakh and a path for Azerbaijan through Zangezur, which is more important for Azerbaijan than Artsakh. Seizure of Syunik Province is Baku’s strategic plan, and its implementation will allow the opening of a belt stretching from Turkey to China. This is dangerous not only for Armenia, but also for Russia and China,” Manukyan concluded.
