The separated part of the criminal case of the events of October 27, 1999 will be reopened. This is what Anahit Bakhshyan, widow of one of the victims of the terrorist act of October 27, 1999 Yuri Bakhshyan, wrote on her Facebook page today.

“My dears, I would like to inform that today I received the response to the appeal I had filed to the Prosecutor General of Armenia on December 18, 2019 in regard to termination of the criminal case regarding the events of October 27, 1999. The appeal has been granted based on the 37-page literate and substantiated appeal filed by my attorney Zaruhi Mezhlumyan. This means that the terminated case with respect to the organizers and patrons of the terrorist act that was committed against the Republic of Armenia on October 27, 1999 will be investigated again, and this means that the Republic of Armenia will act as a victim of the state terrorism and will do everything possible to reveal the enemies of our state, be it within or beyond the borders of the country. We will closely follow the process,” she stated.

On December 18, 2019, Anahit Bakhshyan addressed the Prosecutor General’s Office with the request to eliminate the decision on termination of the separated part of the case of the events of October 27, 1999 and restart investigation.

This part was separated in 2000 to find out whether there were other participants, provokers and possible organizers of the crime or not. However, four years later, the Prosecutor General’s Office had terminated this case separated from the case of the events of October 27, 1999, saying that there was absence of crime.
