YEREVAN. – At its meeting today, the government of Armenia approved the proposal to the country’s joining the Cooperation Group to Combat Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking in Drugs (Pompidou Group) of the Council of Europe.

The Government's respective justification states, in particular, that Armenia's membership in the Pompidou Group and its cooperation with this body can boost the effectiveness of national work and international cooperation in the fight against drugs, but with no significant financial costs from the Armenia’s budget.
