Since Styopa Safaryan was appointed chair of the Public Council of Armenia, four members have already left this structure, in fact refusing to work under his leadership. And, most likely, this parade of "resignations" will continue, Voice of Armenia reported.

"Artsrun Pepanyan is next in line. He has no clear decision yet, Pepanyan will determine the decision after the next meeting, when he understands the mood in the PC. However, it is possible that the exchange of views in the FB with Styopa Safaryan will also gain its influence. Pepanyan warned Safaryan of the need to follow the Law on the Public Council and not violate the principle of political neutrality. And he answered voluminously that, they say, Vazgen Manukyan violated the law, and he, Safaryan, did not violate the law, that political neutrality does not imply political futility." The opinion of Larisa Alaverdyan, who left the PC at the beginning of the week, coincides with Pepanyan's.

"The public council has been working effectively all this time, despite the lack of proper conditions, but it is not clear why the PM was offended by Vazgen Manukyan and did not answer his calls. With the new appointment, the operating mode in the PC was restored, but it is likely that this will be of an imitation nature," Alaverdyan said.
