YEREVAN. – At today's session, the Government of Armenia approved the amendments to the law on compensation for the damage to the life or health of servicemen during defense, whereby the incidents resulting from an adversary's offensive will be included in the compensation for damages to the life or health of servicemen.

The issue was presented by Defense Minister David Tonoyan, noting that there had been cases in the armed forces when the damage to the servicemen’s life or health had been inflicted by the adversary in the absence of immediate military actions, or when the servicemen were not on duty, or were not performing a specific task.

The minister informed that since 2008, the life or health of 10 servicemen has been damaged as a result of adversary offensive.

Tonoyan also expressed a conviction that the government will extend this regulation to the cases that occurred until 1998.

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, in turn, said that thus, they are just beginning to solve the problems of the military sector.
