Qatari Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani issued a law on countering terrorism on Thursday amid continued criticism of Arab countries that severed relations with Doha in 2017 in support of the emirate of terrorism, QNA reported.

According to the official state agency, the emir issued law No. 27 of 2019 on countering terrorism.

The emir approved the decision of the cabinet under number 41 of this year on the implementation of the law on combating money laundering and the sponsorship of terrorism. The Central Bank of Qatar has approved a new list for execution in connection with the law on combating the financing of terrorism.

Despite reports of a thaw in relations between Doha and Riyadh, some Arab politicians from the four countries boycotting Qatar issued in response to this statement that the emirate has still not progressed in the fight against terrorism. In June 2017, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain and Egypt broke off diplomatic relations with Qatar, accusing him of supporting terrorism, especially the Muslim Brotherhood movement in Egypt.
