Russian Federal Security Service detained two Russian nationals plotting terror attacks in St. Petersburg during the New Year holidays.

They were detained thanks to the intelligence shared by the United States, RIA Novosti reported.

Earlier Vladimir Putin thanked U.S. President Donald Trump for sharing intelligence that allowed terrorist attacks to be prevented in Russia. The presidents agreed to continue bilateral cooperation in the fight against terrorism, the statement said.
