China calls on all countries to respect the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Iraq and Syria, said Chinese MFA spokesperson Geng Shuang.

The remarks came commenting on the attacks of the US Air Force on the positions of the Kataib Hezbollah group in Syria and Iraq, TASS reported.

Pentagon spokesman Jonathan Hoffman said earlier that the US launched several attacks on five targets of the Shiite Kataib Hezbollah group in Syria and Iraq in response to the attacks attributed to it. According to the representative of the defense department, Kataib Hezbollah is responsible for rocket fire on Friday at the Iraqi base near Kirkuk, which killed an American civil servant.

The Kataib Hezbollah group is subordinate to the general command of the Shiite forces Al-Hashd al-Shaabi, who fought on the side of the Iraqi army and contributed to the defeat of the ISIS.
