The Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) is five years old. The new integration union treaty entered into force on January 1, 2015. Currently, the union includes Armenia, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan.

The EEU proclaims the free movement of goods, services, capital and labor, as well as a coordinated, consented or unified policy in the economic field.

As tasks for the next five years, the union considers the deepening of integration, the creation of single markets for natural gas and oil, as well as a single financial and transport markets, Tigran Sargsyan, Chairman of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), told TASS. At the same time, the head of the EEC Board is confident that over the past five years the EEU has made progress in both creating favorable conditions for the people and building a comfortable business environment.

"We have institutionalized the fight against barriers within the union," Sargsyan added. "In order to prevent the emergence of new barriers, we have begun working actively with legislators to harmonize the norms of law."
