The Public Services Regulatory Commission of Armenia already has an initial stance on the purchase of VEON Ltd. (NASDAQ and Euronext Amsterdam, Beeline trademark) by Armenia’s Ucom CJSC. This is what Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan declared during the question-and-answer session with government officials in parliament today, responding to a question from deputy of the My Step Alliance Gor Gevorgyan.

According to him, the process is underway.

“The Public Services Regulatory Commission has received the bid and has to analyze it. The initial stance is that all the existing frequencies always have to provide the opportunity for the entrance of a third operator,” Avinyan declared.

The Deputy Prime Minister also stated that the State Commission for the Protection of Economic Competition and the National Security Service have yet to express their positions.
