Armenia bans producing substances that contribute to the destruction of the ozone layer in Armenia, Deputy Minister of Environment Irina Ghaplanyan said at the parliament on Thursday.

The ban will include the import of ozone-depleting materials from countries that have not signed the relevant conventions (Montreal and Vienna). The export of such materials will also be banned in these countries, and the transit of ozone-depleting substances through the territory of Armenia will also be banned.

This draft law regulates restrictions on the production, import, export and transit of ozone-depleting substances, she said.
