On January 22 at 5:30 pm, the Tavush Provincial Police Department of Armenia received a call that a 30-year-old woman from Chinari village had hanged herself at home.
Police officers who arrived at the scene find out that the incident took place in the bedroom where a string and a knife were found, with which her husband, allegedly, had cut off the string and tried to help her hanging wife.
But the police found out that this “suicide” was staged, Police told Armenian News-NEWS.am.
According to preliminary data, the 31-year-old man had strangled his wife to death with the aforesaid string because of jealousy, and then cut the string with the knife to mislead law enforcement.
A criminal case was initiated on charges of murder.
Hours later, the man was taken to the police station and detained.
Examinations have been appointed.
Circumstances are being clarified.
