On January 24, Prince Charles visited the Armenian church at the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem. He was greeted by Archbishop Sevan Gharibian, the Grand Sacristan of the Armenian Apostolic Patriarchate of Jerusalem, informed Father Hovnan Baghdasaryan, Chancellor of the Patriarchate.

Archbishop Gharibian thanked Prince Charles for the visit, considered it a great honor, and presented him an Armenian glazed plate. The Archbishop also spoke with Prince Charles about the Armenian presence and mission in the Holy Land.

Speaking about the historical past of the Armenian people, Archbishop Sevan Gharibian also recalled Hitler's infamous words, "Who, after all, speaks today of the annihilation of the Armenians?" and hoped that justice would prevail.
