By the order of Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II, on January 24, the Armenian Apostolic Church Diocese of the Baltic States (Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia) was established, as a result of separation from the Armenian Apostolic Church Diocese of Russia and New Nakhichevan.
Bishop Vardan Navasardyan was appointed Primate of the newly established diocese.
